Autumn walks and romantic stays

As the season turns to the beauty of autumn, there’s nothing more romantic than booking a surprise night away for your loved one to escape the realities of life and responsibility.  Make plans to do as little or as much as you like when staying overnight with us here at The Stag… just make time for each other.

Located in the Surrey Hills, you will not be disappointed by our gem of a location in the beautiful and quaint village of Eashing, making it a perfect stopover to create adventures and memories with both Godalming and Guildford being close by.

Ben, our General Manager, gives his top recommendations of ways to fill your time during a stay here with us…

Wrap up warm and enjoy a stroll

Make sure to pack your thick jumpers, hat and scarf and get outside in the fresh air and walk off those cobwebs. Detox from your devices and just enjoy catching up whilst taking in some breathtaking walks and sights including the enchanting Waverley Abbey and Loseley Park.  If you forget your wellies, don’t worry, we have some for you to borrow here at the pub.

Local distilleries and places of interest

We are blessed in Surrey with award-winning distilleries, breweries and vineyards, so if you fancy an afternoon quaffing and tasting the best in liquid delights, why not book onto one of the many tours available ranging from Silent Pool Gin, Greyfriars Vineyard and Hogsback Brewery or, as a treat if booking in spring or summer, book a day tour taking in the best of them all with award-winning Grape & Grain Tours. Alternatively, head out and explore local museums, galleries and places of interest – there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Shop and theatre

If you fancy a spot of shopping, there’s a great selection of independent and well-known brands in Guildford’s very own high street and shopping centre from Bobbi Brown and The White Company to House of Fraser and Penhaligon’s. Indulge with lunch at The Ivy, get your hair and nails done too – you name it, Guildford has it! If you’re planning ahead, check out the town’s three theatres including Yvonne Arnauld, Electric Theatre and G Live for some great entertainment.

Recharge your batteries

If the weather outside is frightful and you just want to spend time together, alone, then snuggle up under the covers like old times. We have plenty of tv channels to entertain and a fully-stocked minibar for you to enjoy, plus we have a selection of board games should you want to get competitive over a steaming pot of tea (or a bottle of wine). When you’re ready to join the world, come find us downstairs where you will find a buzzing area filled with rich aromas of delicious dishes being cooked to order. Sit by our log-burning fire and chill out reading the weekend papers and let us look after you with mouth-watering food and drink and exceptional service to make you feel right at home.
