Wonderful inn, managed by fantastic staff
My wife & I have just returned from a one night stay. The setting is superb and the staff are so very welcoming, relaxing and followed the approach that nothing was too much trouble!
When originally booking our nights stay we were recommended to reserve a table for dinner, so glad we as the restaurant was full! A sign of a great chef.
Be sure to get the seats near the open fire, it really did make the evening. We opted for the family/ larger bedroom we found it very luxurious, ensuite was spacious and very modern and their toiletries were to die for.
Dinner & breakfast was divine, excellent value, we opted for the steak – cooked perfectly!
The entire stay we were made to feel incredibly welcome by Lizi who really did go the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable & relaxing.
The stay was so fantastic when checking out we booked another visit in March!
I cannot recommend this place enough.
A colleague and myself booked into this pub/hotel for a one night stay and loved everything about it. A friendly greeting on arrival with a escorted guide to the rooms made a lovely start to the evening.
The rooms were not huge but they were very comfortable with good quality bedding you could feel and an excellent bathroom with power shower, a range of toiletries and a bathrobe.
The selection of local real ales were terrific and very well kept (the Shere Drop was fantastic) and the food was high quality with good portions, I could not finish the belly pork which was a great shame as I loved it.
Breakfast is continental plus boiled eggs from an ingenious machine. The cost is similar to other chain hotels who pale in comparison, I will certainly return.
Wonderful, relaxing break for an exceptional price
Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff, who personally showed us to our room. The decor was extremely tasteful and everything was beautifully clean. We had time for a quick drink before dinner and enjoyed sitting beside the crackling fire in the bar area. We were then shown to our table and despite being on a deal, were offered the full range of choices. The food was excellent and the portions generous. The service was attentive and friendly throughout and nothing was too much trouble.
In the morning we made use of our en-suite and both enjoyed the lovely rain head shower and complimentary toiletries. I believed that we were only going to be able to have the continental breakfast, however we were told we could have anything on the menu “no problem at all.” Again the food was delicious and the service relaxed and friendly. The fire was lit and the Sunday papers laid out, which was a very nice touch.
When it came to paying our bill, there were no arguments or hidden extras and even the alcohol we had had the previous evening was very reasonable. Overall we had a fantastic time and left feeling relaxed and well cared for! Cannot recommend highly enough.
