Relax, explore and enjoy all that Surrey has to offer.

Some of our favourite Surrey attractions…

If you are looking for something different to do in August, why not get out into the beautiful countryside and explore all that surrey has to offer. From the stunning lakeside walks of Winkworth Arboretum where you can get completely absorbed in nature, far away from the hustle bustle of the cities and towns, to the beautifully kept Ramster Gardens boasting a collection of Rhododendrons and Azaleas. There is plenty to do for families and groups too; afternoons at Guildford Lido or perhaps an educational visit to The Lightbox museum in Woking.

Here’s a list of some of our our favourite local activities to whet your appetite.

  1. The Sculpture Park Churt – 20 minutes

The Sculpture Park is a renowned exhibition located in Churt which showcases over 300 renowned and emerging artists. Collectors travel from across the globe to visit and it’s sited in a beautiful 10-acre garden full of wildlife. It is well worth a visit regardless of your intention to buy, simply for the stunning location and plant life, taking full advantage of its Surrey hills location it boasts secretive woodland walks and beautiful scenery.

  1. Chessington World of AdventuresEpsom – 30 minutes

Who doesn’t enjoy a theme park? Okay we know some are not so keen on rides, but there is plenty to do if you don’t fancy going on one of their forty rides. To accompany the theme park, you could make a visit to the Chessington Zoo to get up close and personal with over 1000 exotic animals like Lions, Gorillas and Penguins. Great for the children.

  1. Winchester Distillery – Alresford – 35 minutes

Gin is the popular spirit of choice in bars and public houses nationwide. Among the hierarchy of well know names like Gordans and Bombay Sapphire you will also find a number of new artisan gins on the market. One of our favorite’s is the Twisted Nose Gin produced at the Winchester Distillery. They offer tours led by master distiller Paul Bowler, and of course samples will be given.

  1. Champneys Spa – Guildford – 10 minutes

If you really want to relax on your weekend, then we recommend a visit to Champneys Spa where you can enjoy all sorts of massages from fully qualified staff; perhaps the selection of alternative therapies to release tension and stress from the week may arouse your interest!

  1. Stay & Play – Farnham – 10 Minutes

One for the children, a multi-story adventure play area! Let the kids exhaust themselves in a maze of cargo nets, slides, ball swings and more. There is even a toddler area to the side for the little ones to enjoy. It is a great activity if the weather isn’t prefect (this is England after all) and won’t break the bank whatsoever. Farnham is a beautiful town with rich history and craft such as brewing. While you are there you could also visit our sister pub, The Wheatsheaf and enjoy an afternoon drink in their beautiful courtyard.
